OVERVIEW:> Responsible for the overall development and implementation of the local public relations and media strategies that work to strengthen brand awareness and support the business objectives in the mainland China market.
> Develop and execute a strategic plan including PR, social Media and other communications channels and partnerships to support the business objectives.
> Work alongside the Paris Headquarters to develop and deploy content strategy across multiple owned and earned local channels.
> Work closely with cross functional teams, including sales and merchandising, to align on marketing priorities.
> Manage a team of X people.
> He/she will work closely with Paris Headquarters to define and execute the regional PR, VIP, and Media strategies.
> Ensure that the social media strategy is developed, deployed and leveraged with a 360 approach
> The PR & Media Director will focus on integrated brand and budget planning, share global direction to markets, and drive initiatives by developing planning tools for alignment.
> This role will also be responsible for identifying gaps and opportunities, sharing feedback, best practices, growing the business, and building a strong China region
> Develop PR, Media, and VIP budget, while tracking expenses to make sure spending is in line with budget
> Develop press strategies that reinforce the brand's visibility and authority within the luxury market to stimulate revenue opportunities.
> Ensure that all PR messages are on brand and consistent with the overall positioning of the house.
> Foster strong relationships with key local media titles in the region to maximize editorial coverage and media placements.
> Ensure PR and media monitoring. Follow closely brand DMR results and produce monthly reports. implement PR KPI targets aligned with Paris HQ strategy.
> Propose identify appropriate events and partnership opportunities within the region to support the brand positioning.
> Identify appropriate local celebrities for brand endorsement opportunities.
> Ability to manage public relations agencies and corporate partners to maximize opportunities for exposure.
> Build an innovative media strategy to maximizes cost and reach efficiently
> Oversee the brand's digital media strategy, while providing HQ with recommendations on relevant and engaging social media content to amplify follower engagement.
> Understand the marketplace; well-informed of market trends. Monitors own media coverage, and competitor media coverage, social media activity, as well as industry news that provides market insight.
> Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to the Paris HQ Media team.
KEY REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:
> A university degree in journalism or communications, or equivalent experience in public relations, journalism, marketing or communications.
> 10+ years' work experience, including 5+ years at a managerial level, within a Chinese regional office of a leading retail brands. A background within the luxury retail industry is an advantage.
> Extensive knowledge of the diversity of consumers the region.
> Proficiency in leveraging social media networks and related monitoring tools.
> Excellent communications skills (verbal and written), a strong sense of luxury quality and a creative mindset.
> Strong and effective interpersonal, leadership and management skills.
> Proven relationships with internal and external media, and other relevant industry contacts with demonstrable results.
> Ability to work closely with headquarters and other regional teams, while being very hands-on.
> Proficient in strategy development with successful results.
> Attention to details, strong analytical mind, sensibility with excellent time management skills.
> Overseas travel is required.
